Terms of Service

Effective 2026-08-30 · Operator: SolidRusT Networks

Carbon Ashes is in development. You get a personal license to use pre-release software that will break, wipe, and change. If you cannot live with that, do not download it.

  • Agreement
  • License
  • Pre-release
  • Conduct
  • Liability
  • Law

1. The agreement

These Terms are a contract between you and SolidRusT Networks (“SolidRusT”, “we”, “us”) for the Carbon Ashes website, launcher, game client, game servers, and download CDN (together, the “Service”).

You agree by visiting carbonashes.com, downloading the launcher, installing it, or joining a server. If you do not agree, leave. Related rules: Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy. They are part of this contract.

2. Who may use it

  • You must be at least 13.
  • If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.
  • The game includes firearms, vehicle combat, and player hostility. It is intended for mature players.
  • You must not be barred from using the Service under Canadian or other applicable law.

3. License, not a sale

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install the launcher and client on devices you own or control, and to play on our servers, solely for your own non-commercial use, while we let you.

  • You do not own the software, the title, the yard, or any account.
  • You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical limits except where a law says we cannot stop you — and then only to that extent.
  • You may not rent, sell, or sublicense the client, a game key, or access.
  • Game keys are single-player credentials. Sharing a key is a material breach.

4. Pre-release software

Carbon Ashes is a working title. The Service is alpha-grade. Expect crashes, wipes, lost progress, broken vehicles, empty shards, and design changes without notice.

  • World state may wipe on a weekly cadence, or whenever we need the yard hungry again.
  • Features on the teaser are direction, not a promise of ship date or completeness.
  • We may throttle, relocate, or shut down servers at any time.
  • There is no refund because there is no purchase on this site.

5. Accounts and display names

Access uses a SolidRusT game key and a display name you choose. You are responsible for the key. If it leaks, whoever holds it can play as you until we revoke it.

Display names must pass server rules (length, charset, reserved words). We can reclaim a name that impersonates staff, is illegal, or violates the Acceptable Use Policy.

6. The yard is hostile. That is not a free pass.

Carbon Ashes is a shared PvP world. Building, fighting, looting, and leaving a scar on other players’ work is the loop — see the Acceptable Use Policy. Cheats, attacks on infrastructure, real-world harassment, and anything involving minors sexually are not the loop. We can suspend or ban without a hearing.

7. Your content

Vehicles, barricades, names, and other things you put in the shared world are “Player Content.” You keep whatever rights you have in that content. You grant SolidRusT a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, display, and modify it as needed to run, moderate, wipe, and promote the Service.

You represent you have the right to grant that license and that the content does not break the law or these Terms.

8. Our intellectual property

Carbon Ashes, the mark, the teaser, the client, server code, audio, and branding are owned by SolidRusT or its licensors. The Carbon engine is open-sourced by Fenris Creations (formerly CCP Games); Jolt Physics is used under its license. Nothing here transfers those rights to you.

9. Third-party services

The site loads Google Fonts. Downloads go through AWS CloudFront. The mint lives at api.solidrust.ai. GitHub Pages hosts this site. Their terms apply to their slice. We are not responsible for third-party sites, including solidrust.net.

10. No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of bugs, wipes, or grief.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SolidRusT and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost progress, scrap, vehicles, or data, whether or not we were told they might happen.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to CAD $50, or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. If you paid nothing, you can stop using it. That is the remedy.

Some places do not allow certain limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the least amount the law allows.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify SolidRusT against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your Player Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

13. Suspension and end

We may suspend or end your access at any time, including for Acceptable Use violations, security, capacity, or because development ended. You may stop at any time by uninstalling and not coming back. Sections that should survive (license limits, IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, law) survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere to protect the Service or our IP.

15. Changes

We may change these Terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use is acceptance. If you cannot accept a change, uninstall and leave.

16. Housekeeping

  • If one clause fails, the rest still holds.
  • These Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement for the Service.
  • A failure to enforce a rule once is not a waiver.
  • You may not assign these Terms. We may.
